I end up saving a lot of money by shopping for clothes off season. TBG was the recipient of my latest find. He does not like cargo shorts. His legs are a bit on the short side, so longer lengths do not work for him. It was a pleasant surprise to find two pairs in his size while I was at Fallah's looking for 100% cotton crew neck sweatshirts. Every few weeks I go looking for sweatshirts there for him. He doesn't like blends and he doesn't like hoods. That can be tough to accommodate, and it means I need to keep my eyes open. Alas, I did not find any sweat shirts, but I did find these shorts.

How Does My Garden Grow?
It is a sad fact that the only reason I have a garden, is because my husband plants it. We decide on things together, I tell him what to do, and he does the work. I am really that lazy. The design of our yard is based on a plan that I drew up and our handyman/landscaper implemented. Tommy helped with a lot of that labor too. Since I am frugal, a lot of time is spent splitting perennials and planting things that spread out. It would probably be easier on him if I just let him put in all new annuals each year. But that gets to be too pricey for my cheap tastes.

Manly Stuff - the Valentine's Day Edition
While
TBG is not a super-macho man (kinda tough when he grew up with three sisters),
he's a "man's man" sort of guy. True, his best friends are women,
again, since he grew up around girls -- but he's a boy through and
through. I think one of the things I like the most about him is that while
he is Mr. Masculine, he's still very considerate and has no stupid gender-based
pride. He's also very much a kid -- and this is me extolling his virtues post-Valentine's Day. The one thing I've always said about my mate, is that he's my barometer of character when judging others. If you
don't like Tommy, then there is something wrong with you and you are not to be
trusted.
